Cirque contest fulfilling fantasy
Your drawing could come to life on stage at the Hippodrome this month during “Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy,” a national touring production set in an enchanted forest.
The show is filled with international Olympians, aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, vine-swinging characters, dancers, musicians and more.
Artistic Director Neil Goldberg is calling on people of all ages to submit sketches by sending an e-mail to costumes@cirqueproductions.com or mailing it to: Cirque Productions, 1985 N.W. 18th St., Pompano Beach, FL 33069 ATTN: Cirque Costume Contest: Baltimore.
If chosen, the costume design team at Cirque Dreams Studios will interpret and manufacture the costume and premiere it onstage on Thursday January 31 at 8 p.m. Deadline for e-mailed costume submissions is Sunday, January 27 at midnight and the deadline for mailed submissions is Saturday, January 26.
“We came up with this concept in an effort to engage people of all ages with an experience that can bring their own dreams to life,” Goldberg said.
The grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card to Harborplace & The Gallery (or other General Growth Properties malls) and four complimentary tickets to the Thursday, January 31 performance to see Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy – and their own costume come to life on stage.
