Obituary: Frances Amenta
Perry Hall Woman’s Club President Frances (Coats) Amenta passed away Oct. 4 at the age of 61, six weeks after being diagnosed with cancer of the gal bladder. A Perry Hall resident for 35 years, Amenta was active with a Taking Pounds Off Sensibly group, bowled every Friday night and golfed every Thursday with leagues. She was also a child care provider for more than 30 years and was an Avon representative – a sign along Belair Road designates the area adopted by “The Avon Lady.” Amenta was born in Baltimore in February 1946 and graduated from Kenwood High School. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lena coats, and is survived by her children Susan and Steven Amenta, and grandson Nicholas. Services were held earlier this week at Schimunek Funeral Home. Interment was at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
